They consider the market is too easy to manipulate \u2014 and pages 24 and 25 talk specifically about the manipulation of Tether, with close reference to the <a href=\"https:\/\/davidgerard.co.uk\/blockchain\/2018\/06\/15\/news-rip-off-britain-on-bitcoin-tether-in-depth-ethereum-as-non-security-blockchain-not-up-to-uk-welfare-apple-kicks-crypto-apps-religion-but-on-the-blockchain\/\">University of Texas paper<\/a> by Griffin and Shams.<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>You should <a href=\"https:\/\/ftalphaville.ft.com\/2018\/07\/24\/1532404800000\/Crypto---government--from-anarchy-to-amity-in-the-USA\/\">definitely read<\/a> the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/comments\/sr-cboebzx-2018-040\/cboebzx2018040.htm\">submissions<\/a> to the SEC, by the way \u2014 the plaintive pleas of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/comments\/sr-cboebzx-2018-040\/srcboebzx2018040-168277.htm\">Matt Gustafson<\/a> (&#8220;I have lost over 70% of my liquidity over the time I keep putting money into crypto because it makes sense&#8221;), or the twisty maze of footnotes from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/comments\/sr-cboebzx-2018-040\/srcboebzx2018040-4034948-168331.htm\">Ken Kauffleman.<\/a><\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Jake Chervinsky <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jchervinsky\/status\/1021795224958455810\">explains<\/a> why the SEC will probably reject the VanEck\/SolidX Bitcoin ETF as well \u2014 but not until February 2019.<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Tether now appears to be issuing <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/eurtprinter\/status\/1022163478344282115\">Tether rubles.<\/a><\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>eMusic, the web-based record shop that are doing an <a href=\"https:\/\/rocknerd.co.uk\/2018\/04\/06\/oh-emusic-no-dont-go-blockchain\/\">ICO,<\/a> are out of money and can&#8217;t pay their bills \u2014 in news that surprises nobody, swathes of songs keep disappearing from their shop because they keep <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hypebot.com\/hypebot\/2018\/07\/emusic-is-late-paying-artists-labels-.html\">not paying<\/a> the labels they&#8217;re distributing. The next question is whether they can keep the lights on until their <a href=\"https:\/\/rocknerd.co.uk\/2018\/07\/24\/emusic-releases-its-blockchain-ico-plan-its-not-very-good\/\">ICO token sale,<\/a> which is scheduled for Q4 2019.<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>I mentioned the <a href=\"https:\/\/davidgerard.co.uk\/blockchain\/2018\/07\/22\/news-exitscam-me-uk-treasury-ibms-dollar-substitute-token-stripe-kodakcoin\/\">new popularity<\/a> of &#8220;airplane game&#8221; Ethereum ponzis.
