So &mdash; keeping up the crypto world&#8217;s reinvention of all the old middlemen, but badly &mdash; Coinbase is offering holding-as-a-service for large customers &mdash; <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.coinbase.com\/coinbase-custody-is-officially-open-for-business-182c297d65d9\">Coinbase Custody!<\/a> And just to keep it as crypto as possible, they&#8217;ve chosen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etc-clearing.com\/\">Electronic Transaction Clearing<\/a> as their partner &mdash; who the SEC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/news\/press-release\/2018-45\">charged in March<\/a> with &#8220;repeatedly putting customer assets at risk.&#8221; Here&#8217;s the <a href=\"https:\/\/files.brokercheck.finra.org\/firm\/firm_146122.pdf\">103-page PDF<\/a> listing all of ETC&#8217;s infractions.<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/view\/articles\/2018-07-03\/not-stressing-the-stress-tests\">Matt Levine:<\/a> &#8220;Of course this is not because the people writing the securities laws in the 1930s somehow foresaw the blockchain. It\u2019s because, at the low end of crypto innovation, the new tricks are exactly the same as the old tricks.&#8221; And at the middle end, and at the high end.<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Here&#8217;s a Github repository of <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/sec-bit\/awesome-buggy-erc20-tokens\">ERC-20 token smart contract vulnerabilities.<\/a> <\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>I am shocked, shocked to hear that a company that renamed itself &#8220;UBI Blockchain&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.co.uk\/2018\/07\/02\/sec_ubiblockchain_shares\/\">got busted by the SEC<\/a> working a convoluted share pumping scheme.<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Coiners are shocked, shocked to hear Bitcoin billionaire Li Xiaolai <a href=\"https:\/\/unhashed.com\/cryptocurrency-news\/chinese-bitcoin-billionaire-rips-neo-tron-binance-ceo-leaked-audio\/\">telling the simple and obvious truth<\/a> in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scmp.com\/tech\/article\/2154094\/bitcoin-billionaires-foul-mouthed-tirade-puts-spotlight-chinas-cryptocurrency\">leaked audio recording.<\/a> &#8220;A person needs to become a celebrity before starting any blockchain based project. Blockchain project creators need people to believe in them, and most people are dumb and easy to manipulate. Fan-flow is the core competition.
