Well, almost; sentencing was to be in a week or so, but may wait until <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/josh-garzas-sentencing-pushed-back-next-year\/\">next year<\/a>. Note that this is all about the SEC acting against the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/litigation\/litreleases\/2017\/lr23885.htm\">GAW Miners scam<\/a>; they haven&#8217;t even got to PayCoin yet. There&#8217;s a novel-length story to be written about Garza, mostly on the theme that cryptocurrency is like catnip for serial scammers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Russia works to ensure that Bitcoin can flourish <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bitcoin.com\/russias-central-bank-clearinghouse-settle-cryptocurrency-contracts\/\">free from interference by legacy financial institutions<\/a>. 1BTC=1BTC!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Australia issues <a href=\"http:\/\/asic.gov.au\/regulatory-resources\/digital-transformation\/initial-coin-offerings\/\">general guidance<\/a> on how to conduct an ICO without breaking every law going. It&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/tether.to\/announcement-transparency-update\/\">not an audit<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/tether.to\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/09\/Final-Tether-Consulting-Report-9-15-17_Redacted.pdf\">says it isn&#8217;t<\/a>. It doesn&#8217;t show anything to demonstrate that Tether is solvent. (r\/buttcoin coverage?) But this is apparently all they have to show. &#8220;Bitfinexed&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/@bitfinexed\/the-so-called-tether-audit-that-isnt-an-audit-at-all-5a40cfcc2a75\">analyses it in detail.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;You can replace the term &#8216;distributed ledgers&#8217; with &#8216;shared Excel sheets&#8217; in about 90 percent of talk about blockchain and finance&#8221; \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/davidgerard.co.uk\/blockchain\/business-bafflegab-but-on-the-blockchain\/\">Tracy Alloway<\/a>.
