This week&#8217;s are Bithumb and DragonEx \u2014 Bithumb was taken for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblockcrypto.com\/tiny\/bithumb-hacked-for-20-million-funds-already-sent-to-exchanges\/\">$12.7m in EOS tokens on Friday,<\/a> apparently by insiders, and DragonEx was <a href=\"https:\/\/nakedsecurity.sophos.com\/2019\/03\/27\/dragonex-exchange-hacked-smoking-ashes-being-raked-over\/\">hacked last Sunday<\/a> for an as yet unknown amount, and some funds have been recovered.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/breakermag.com\/og-exchange-localbitcoins-is-moving-away-from-anonymity\/\">LocalBitcoins adopts Know Your Customer rules,<\/a> so as to meet new Finnish anti-money-laundering laws.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Anyone remember that time the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/krakenfx?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@krakenfx<\/a> CEO proposed exporting SF\u2019s homeless to Texas? Amy&#8217;s also recorded <a href=\"https:\/\/amycastor.com\/2019\/03\/29\/im-in-a-podcast-why-wont-amy-castor-just-shut-up-about-quadrigacx\/\">a podcast with CoinSpice<\/a> on the whole Quadriga mess.<\/p>\n<p>This is Ernst &amp; Young Canada&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/documentcentre.eycan.com\/Pages\/Main.aspx?SID=1445\">page of documents from Quadriga&#8217;s CCAA<\/a> \u2014\u00a0 if you don&#8217;t read anything else, read the Third Report of the Monitor. It reads like an extremely annoyed forensic accountant bending over backwards not to straight-out call every single person involved in Quadriga a crook.<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg also comes straight out and says that Quadriga co-founder <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2019-03-19\/from-fraud-to-fintech-quadriga-co-founder-s-past-crimes-emerge\">Michael Patryn is Omar Dhanani<\/a> \u2014 &#8220;Patryn changed his name from Omar Dhanani to Omar Patryn with the British Columbia government in March 2003. Five years later, he registered a name change to Michael Patryn in the same Canadian province.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Christine Duhaime, the financial crime lawyer who <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cduhaime\/status\/1092247346619002881\">called in February for a government bailout of Quadriga&#8217;s creditors<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20190210004032\/https:\/\/twitter.com\/cduhaime\/status\/1092247346619002881\">archive<\/a>) &#8230; finally reveals that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/from-law-to-lawlessness-bits-of-the-untold-quadrigacx-story\">she is one of said creditors,<\/a> to the tune of over $100,000. And that she helped set up the legal structure of Quadriga, before Gerald Cotten turned the exchange into a one-man show.<\/p>\n<p>In the wake of Quadriga, the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) and the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIRO) have released a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.osc.gov.on.ca\/documents\/en\/Securities-Category2\/csa_20190314_21-402_crypto-asset-trading-platforms.pdf\">Proposed Framework for Crypto-Asset Trading Platforms<\/a> as a consultation paper.
